SCHATTENWALD (AMONGST THE SHADOWS)
Synopsis: Seeking to solve the mystery of the abandoned house owned by her estranged father, young burned-out songwriter Julika first has to face her own demons to find out if she has the strength to finally let go of the shadows of her past.
About the Director: Laura Thies was born in Munich, Germany and grew up in the Bavarian countryside, where she climbed onto her first theater stage at the age of five. At the age of 18 she followed her dream of becoming an actress, which led her directly to NYC.
During her studies at AMDA and the New School, she discovered her passion for filmmaking. In 2011 Laura made her first feature film ‘Surviving Family’, which received 23 awards at 20 festivals. ‘Amongst the Shadows’ is her first German movie.
