Refilmery Series takes you behind the scenes to discover the process and strategies that filmmakers and creative people employ in their work.
Welcome to Refilmery! We are a film and photography production company in New York. Each week, we turn the mic on our fellow creatives and the brand leaders we produce films for, to find out why they make their films, and how they use storytelling to reach their audiences.
What elements of cinematography do you need to create a great film? In today’s episode, we chat with Brandon Roots, the cinematographer of King Jack, to learn about his methods and what he discovered while making the film.
We also discuss:
• Brandon’s ongoing collaboration with the film’s director and writer, Felix Thompson,
• How a DP balances commercial work and feature films,
• How Brandon’s visual arts background influences his film work
